Thanks for checking out HomeGrown! We are a local eatery, serving local food, cooked by local people, and we love what we do! Why “slow food right quick”? We believe in the Slow Food philosophy that “everyone has a fundamental right to pleasure and consequently the responsibility to protect the heritage of food, tradition and culture that make this pleasure possible.” We also know that out here in the real world people are in a hurry. So, we serve up “slow food,” that is to say good, clean, local food, “right quick!” Eating local is a very important step in healing our global environment. We’ve talked to a lot of people and we know there’s lots of folks out there who agree, eating local requires a big commitment of both time and money. We think that should change. HomeGrown is all about making local food affordable and convenient so that everybody, not just the fabulously wealthy (thou they should feel free to eat at HomeGrown, too!), can enjoy a delicious, healthy meal while supporting our community farmers.
